Why this happens
Atorvastatin and fexofenadine are processed by different pathways in the body. Atorvastatin is primarily broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, while fexofenadine is mostly removed from the body unchanged by the kidneys and through transport proteins. Because they do not compete for the same 'processing machinery', they do not interfere with each other's levels in the blood.
