An aldosterone-producing adenoma is a noncancerous (benign) tumour that develops in an adrenal gland, which is a small hormone-producing gland located on top of each kidney. In most cases, individuals develop a single tumour in one of the adrenal glands. The adrenal tumour produces too much of the hormone aldosterone, which is a condition known as primary hyperaldosteronism. Aldosterone helps regulate the body's fluid levels and blood pressure by controlling the amount of salt retained by the kidneys. Excess aldosterone causes the kidneys to retain more salt than normal, which increases the body's fluid levels and blood pressure. People with an aldosterone-producing adenoma may develop severe high blood pressure (hypertension), and they have an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, or an irregular heart beat (atrial fibrillation).

Cushing's syndrome is caused by too high a level of glucocorticoid in the body. There are a number of causes of Cushing's syndrome. These include the following: Pituitary adenoma - Cushing's disease A pituitary adenoma is a small, non-cancerous (benign) tumour in the pituitary gland. It is usually less than 1 cm in size and is made of abnormal.

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a condition affecting the level of cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal gland. Cells in the outer part of the adrenals (the adrenal cortex) make the hormones cortisol and aldosterone. One of these is testosterone, a male hormone, which causes the male-like (virilising) features seen in the condition..

What is acromegaly. It is crucial to recognise and treat this disease early to prevent serious health issues. What causes acromegaly. In nearly everyone with acromegaly, the excess hormone comes from a small growth (tumour) in the pituitary gland (a pea-sized gland below the brain). This is a non-cancerous (benign) growth called a pituitary.

They are s... The adrenal glands produce hormones, of which the most important ones are: Cortisol, which has lots of very important functions, such as controlling blood sugar, controlling salt levels in the blood, and affecting the function of the immune function. Aldosterone, which is very important for controlling salt (sodium and potassium).
